In this position, you will play a key role in understanding customer needs, creating and designing tailored solutions, and supporting the sales team with technical insights and cost estimates. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop value-driven proposals.
The position could be based in any of our offices in Denton, Texas, Winsted, Minnesota or Vernon Hills, Illinois.
You will be travelling 25% of your time to our customer sites.

The Company cannot offer employment to F-1 (student) visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full time basis.What you will doAs a Solution Design Specialist, you will:
- Understand customer needs and translate them into clear technical requirements, specifications and solution architectures.
- Design pre project solutions that align with customer expectations and Tetra Pak's Automation & Digital portfolio.
- Prepare cost estimates and detailed technical specifications for proposed solutions.
- Define hardware, software, and resource requirements for Automation & Digital projects.
- Cross functional collaboration with engineers, project managers and account managers in pre projects opportunities for greenfields and brownfields projects.
- Support business development and sales teams in technical discussions and customer meetings, acting as a subject matter expert for Automation & Digital.
- Conduct customer site visits to assess needs, gather data, and support opportunity development for Automation & Digital.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of solution design tools, templates, and methodologies.
- Bachelor“s Degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- At least 5 years of experience in the industrial automation sector.
- Experience in the food & beverage industry is required.
- Experience with pre project and quotations is a plus.
- Solid Knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) technologies such as PLC, SCADAs, programming, and commissioning activities.
- Solid knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, ASI).
- Knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution System), Virtualization, and Industrial Network integration is strongly recommended.
- Proven understanding of automation platforms, systems design, processing equipment, and processes.
- Experience with Tetra Pak Automation Solution (Tetra Pak PlantMaster) is a plus.
- Proven communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Dynamism to work with simultaneous demands and projects.

This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include annual performance bonus, competitive benefits, and work-related allowances.
- Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $83,700.00 -$119,500.00 USD
- Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS
