- Create control algorithms, download source code to controllers, manage system databases, and implement an animated front-end graphical user interface.
- Experience in Multiple Systems integration, getting different protocols to talk to each other and share information. One front end for multiple platforms.
- Executes project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects.
- Participates in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel.
- Works with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols, encryption, and database requirements for integration to their systems.
- Runs semi-complex reports to analyze system operation, works with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work.
- Participates in final inspection and testing, assures customer acceptance, and conducts training for end user customers on system operations.
- Provides Plans & Control System Documents to application engineering for as-built drawings using the latest digital technology.
- Mentors other specialists who may need specific automation or HVAC product knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience with Siemens Apogee and Desigo.
- Must have working knowledge of HVAC systems - Unitary Systems to Central Plants.
- Troubleshooting skills for determining HVAC vs. computer/controller issues.
- General understanding of IP networks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints
- Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming. (Java, C++)
- Knowledge of AutoCAD a plus.
- BACnet and/or LON, Lonworks Control Systems, Tridium NIAGARA AX/NIAGARA 4/Distech/Eclypse, Direct Digital Controls, Honeywell Webs, MODbus, Alerton, Johnson Controls FX, Staefa, Solidyne, Andover Controls, Siemens, and Schnieder preferred
