About the Role:Join BMS Pediatric Therapy Group, P.C. as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant -SLPA and make a meaningful impact on children's communication skills. Collaborate with a passionate team in a supportive environment dedicated to helping young patients thrive. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our early intervention team. The SLPA will provide speech and language services to children with communication delays or disorders, under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.Responsibilities:
  • Assist licensed Speech Language Pathologists in implementing treatment plans for children with speech and language disorders.
  • Conduct therapy sessions under supervision, focusing on improving communication skills in a fun and engaging manner.
  • Document patient progress and report findings to the supervising therapist.
  • Prepare and organize materials for therapy sessions to enhance learning experiences.
  • Support families by providing resources and strategies to reinforce therapy goals at home.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to collaborative treatment planning.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming therapy environment for all patients.
  • Stay updated on best practices in speech therapy and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Communication Disorders or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current SLPA license in the state of Illinois.
  • Experience working with children in a therapeutic or educational setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate demeanor and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • Basic knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new therapeutic techniques and approaches.
