- Hourly Range: $19.63/hour - $29.45/hour (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.)
- Assists in the preparation and implementation of routine industrial hygiene activities inclusive of the project Safety and Health Management Plan and associated industrial hygiene plans, procedures, methods, and training.
- Helps provide industrial hygiene input to Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Startup, Subcontracts, and other project groups to make sure that requirements are integrated within project planning, design, construction plans, and subcontracts.
- Interprets requirements and provides technical assistance regarding risk assessment, plan preparation, industrial hygiene requirements, and ES&H program execution.
- Identifies regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports.
- Provides technical guidance for industrial hygiene studies, risk and hazard assessments, and other safety and health reviews.
- Participates in emergency response and aids the investigation and resolution of health-related incidents.
- Helps identify ES&H stakeholders and resolve their concerns.
- Participates in meetings, as required, with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of industrial hygiene requirements.
- Conducts inspections, sampling, and monitoring to help evaluate ES&H performance, identify the need for corrective actions, and confirm compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel ES&H requirements.
- Assists in tracking ES&H performance and trends, prepares reports, and enters data in Bechtel's Industrial Hygiene Records System.
- Supports other ES&H team members and tasks, inclusive of all ES&H disciplines.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, or Master of Science (MS) degree, from an accredited university or college in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or a related scientific field.
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience with industrial hygiene monitoring, risk assessment, and control methods.
- Computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
- Analytical skills related to sampling, monitoring, and recordkeeping.
- Experience teaching and training others.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to research and comprehend organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, standards, regulations, instrumentation, and sampling methods.
- Knowledge of engineering control systems, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment to mitigate hazards.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 Management System standards.
- Adaptable and able to work outdoors in a field environment under various weather conditions.
- Ability to support multiple work shifts, as needed.
