- Maintains a safe and clean working area and environment.
- Requisitions parts for equipment breakdowns.
- Uses equipment technical manuals.
- Adheres to electrical safety standards.
- Works closely with automation technicians or electricians who maintain the machine’s electronic components.
- Use protective equipment such as hardhats, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protectors and belts.
- Examines work orders and converses with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance tasks using checklists to optimize machine inspections, such as checking, cleaning, and repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
- Sets up and tests industrial equipment to ensure that it functions properly.
- Maintains equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, and tests.
- Operates equipment to demonstrate proper use and to analyze malfunctions.
- Adjusts working parts such as drive belts, pulleys, drive chains, and sprockets, using hand tools or power tools.
- Scrapes and cleans units or parts using cleaning solvents and equipment such as buffing wheels.
- Troubleshooting:
- Performs diagnostic procedures using multimeters, sensor testers, power supplies and other specialized equipment.
- Troubleshoots equipment malfunction using factory authorized technical manuals and interprets basic electrical diagrams.
- Personal Development:
- Take on additional responsibilities and consistently demonstrate problem solving skills in order to move up within the company.
- Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools.
- Completes assigned work correctly and on time.
- Tests faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment and software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
- Inspects components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation and for defects such as loose connections and frayed wires.
- Repairs and adjusts equipment, machines, and defective components, replacing worn parts such as gaskets and seals in watertight electrical equipment.
- Repairs and rebuilds defective mechanical parts in electric motors, gearboxes and related equipment, using hand tools and power tools. Reads service guides to find information needed to perform repairs.
- Solders, wraps, and coats wires to ensure proper insulation.
- Welds, brazes, or solders electrical connections.
- Coordinates and follows-up on assigned equipment breakdowns.
- Plans routine repairs effectively. Ability to follow up on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Uses problem solving skills effectively.
- Stays actively busy throughout the day and documents all work performed daily.
- Completes all preventative tasks assigned in a timely manner.
- Follows the assigned schedule and is on the production floor with the radio at the start of each shift.
- Follows attendance policy. Observes department call-in procedures. Exhibits timely arrival and departure and dependable time habits including meal and other breaks.
- Maintains a positive attitude and gets along well with coworkers.
- Exhibits teamwork and willingness to help others.
- Follows dress code and maintains a professional appearance.

- Minimum 3 years work experience in a maintenance environment.
- Must have good attention to detail. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Good communications skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
- Knowledge of industrial tools and test equipment.
- Proven ability to repair industrial maintenance components such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, belt and chain driven components, etc.
- Basic knowledge and comprehension of PLC troubleshooting.
- Ability to work overtime with little notice and be on-call before/after normal business hours.
