We are seeking a skilled Project Manager (and Assistant Project Manager candidates) to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. The focus of this position will be on overseeing substation design projects within the 12-kV to 500-kV range, including existing sites, switchyards, and renewable energy connections.This role requires leadership abilities, a solid engineering background, proactive thinking, and the capability to handle intricate projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, internal groups, and regulatory bodies to ensure the safe, timely, and profitable execution of projects.ResponsibilitiesLead all phases of substation projects: planning, permitting, design, procurement, construction, and project closure.Create and monitor project budgets, timelines, scopes, and deliverables.Act as the main contact point for clients regarding project updates, strategic planning, and issue resolution.Manage mobilization and demobilization planning on sites and assist construction managers during implementation.Draft RFPs, scopes of work, and bid packages; aid in vendor selection and contract negotiations.Oversee project documentation, permitting procedures, quality control, safety compliance, and on-site inspections.Coordinate project teams and disciplines, including engineering, procurement, construction, and controls.Ensure timely reporting on project performance, cost monitoring, procurement challenges, and risks.Maintain accurate invoicing, change management records, and project closure documentation.Cultivate ongoing client relationships and support future business development opportunities.RequirementsHold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.Minimum of 7 years experience in high-voltage substation (physical and P&C) projects.At least 3 years of direct experience in project management.Preferably possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a bonus.Demonstrate strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience working with public, utility, and government clients on large infrastructure projects.Flexibility to travel up to 15% as required.Hold a valid driver’s license and comply with the company’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
