- Work as part of a Global V&V team supporting Li-Ion product related NPI Activities.
- Conduct battery electrical performance testing.
- Support testing at 3rd party laboratories.
- Work with external parties on fixture design and test instrumentation & optimization
- Generate test results and supporting data in reports.
- Maintain lab test equipment.
- Provide product design enhancement suggestions.
- Operate electronic test equipment and HV battery equipment.
- Good mechanical knowledge of hand tools and power equipment.
- Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical principles.
- Problem solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
- Technical 2-year degree in an engineering discipline or military experience in related field
- Requires the use of MS office suite of products, especially Excel.
- 5+ years experience in electronics and electrical systems
- 3 years experience with NPI activities
- Software development experience with test communication protocols, including python programming language
- Battery test experience
- Experience collaborating with department team members.
- Experience maintaining safe work practices and environment.
- Ability to follow priorities on multiple tasks.
- Previous experience working with Li-Ion Battery technology
- Familiar with quality standards (ISO 9001 & 17025, equipment metrology).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office program suite.
- Detailed report writing skills.
- Previous experience of delivering measurable results in a busy environment.
- Experience of working with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards.
- Demonstrate a high degree of safety practices in the workplace.
- Familiar with 5S and Six Sigma lean enterprise initiatives.
- Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Risk of electrical shock.
- This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
