- Support and advise sales and trading personnel on applicable SEC and FIRNA rules and regulations applicable to equity market making, agency trading and options trading.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures across equity sales and trading.
- Analyze regulatory changes as they relate to equity sales and trading, and coordinate with various stakeholders to develop efficient processes and procedures to address any new requirements.
- Establish and execute a controls testing program designed to ensure that policies and procedures are reasonably designed to achieve compliance with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate regulatory responses to equities and options related exams, inquiries, and requests.
- Coordinate with CCO on developing and implementing strategies to enhance regulatory compliance and reduce risk.
- Develop, organize, and deliver on-going compliance training.
- Participate on industry committees and attend conferences and roundtables as applicable.
- Review and resolve daily exceptions relating to trading activity, trade reporting, and order handling generated by the firm's order management systems, trade reporting systems, surveillance systems and clearing firms.
- Maintain a system of calendars, checklists, and spreadsheets to evidence daily reviews / remediation.
- Perform daily reviews of all Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT), and Customer and Account Information System (CAIS) data, including linkage and named errors, to help identify errors and inconsistencies for prompt repair/resubmission.
- Develop and perform daily trading and best execution reviews based on both SEC / FINRA rules and the firm's Best Execution practices, including, but not limited to, CAT, Rules 605/606, Reg NMS, Reg SHO, TRF Reporting, ACT, Rule 15c3-5 (Market Access), low priced securities and market manipulation.
- Regularly engage with trading desk, operations, compliance, risk, FINRA, and external vendors to resolve exceptions, escalating issues to management as necessary.
- Conduct regular review of procedures and systems to further automate daily processes and increase team efficiency.

- 5-10+ years of compliance or regulatory experience.
- Strong knowledge of SEC and FINRA rules.
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience in the financial industry, especially with Trading Surveillance, Trading Desk, Trade Support, Compliance or Risk Management, is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of SEC and FINRA rules related to equities and options trading.
- Series 4, 7, 24, 57 exams preferred, or willingness to start taking exams within the first 3 months.
- Ability to reach sound judgments and act quickly under tight deadlines.
- Experience with the following systems: Fidessa (OMS); Nasdaq Smarts (trade surveillance/case management); Global Relay (e-comm surveillance/case management).
- Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
- Must be a self-starter with strong work ethic and be flexible and adaptive.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative in completing assigned tasks in a timely manner and meet deadlines.
- Strong time management skills, ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes and be flexible.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel.
- Knowledge of programming and query languages is a plus.
- Willingness to assist in other areas on an as-needed basis.
- Must be available for travel as needed.
