- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in industrial and commercial buildings.
- Conduct site surveys to determine optimal placement of fire alarm equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fire alarm systems.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
- Provide clear and concise documentation of work performed.
- Educate customers on the proper use and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- The ability to run and bend conduit preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fire alarm system installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of fire alarm codes and regulations (NFPA).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (e.g., heights, confined spaces).
- Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
- Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
- Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
- Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and must be able to travel on short notice.
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
