Fire Alarm Install Technician PositionThe function of this position is to provide reliable, high quality customer support through on-site inspecting, installing, repairing, and/or replacing fire alarm equipment as well as conducting preventative maintenance services pertaining to many different manufacturers’ equipment.This position has a salary range of $25-$32 per hour depending on experienceJob Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in industrial and commercial buildings.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine optimal placement of fire alarm equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fire alarm systems.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Provide clear and concise documentation of work performed.
  • Educate customers on the proper use and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • The ability to run and bend conduit preferred.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fire alarm system installation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm codes and regulations (NFPA).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (e.g., heights, confined spaces).
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
  • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
  • Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and must be able to travel on short notice.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
