- Takes client medical histories, performs and records vital signs and prepares clients for examination.
- Assists with completing Nursing portion of admission process.
- Completes patient assessments and notes.
- Documents and updates Multidisciplinary Records.
- Inputs client related information into medical record systems.
- Transfers clients to Emergency room when appropriate.
- Operates Pyxis machine based on appropriate protocol.
- Assists with laboratory services and facilities routine tests as directed by MD and/or Nurse Practioners.
- Maintains clean and properly stocked examination rooms and equipment.
- Assists with ordering client specific and stock medication and updating inventory.
- Writes, transcribes and reviews orders for non-controlled medications.
- Administers non-controlled medications.
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience acquired through a combination of education or practical work experience.
- Work experience in a mental health or substance abuse/recovery environment or with a 12 step program is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification is required for this position. If not CPR/First Aid certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within the state mandated time frame after first day of employment.
