At Sompo International, a shared commitment to integrity, teamwork, agility, execution, and excellence define our culture, and we strive to create exceptional value for our clients and shareholders and maintain Sompo International as a desirable place to work.We are seeking an experienced Sr. Underwriter for our E&S Property team in our Alpharetta, GA office.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reviews applications and financial requirements to determine acceptability of risk in accordance with Endurance guidelines and standardsUnderstands pricing components and rating methodology as well as use of the predictive modelling tools; prices risk based on financial and competitive analysisUses all appropriate underwriting tools, disciplines and knowledge of strategies to ensure underwriting guidelines are followedDemonstrates technical underwriting skills through strategic, thorough account reviews and file documentationPrepares or analyses information on adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, underwriting requirements, status and declinations in order to drive results within the assigned territoryAdheres to CAT guidelines and underwriting discipline to minimize exposure and appropriately priceKeeps current on state/territory issues, regulations and trendsQualifications:Minimum of 6-7 years of insurance underwriting experience requiredBachelor’s Degree preferredExperience in working, producing, and underwriting all sizes of accounts with the large brokerage houses, wholesalers, and specialty retailersExperience successfully underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable businessRelationships with large brokers on both a regional and national levelStrong attention to detailExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical and organizational skillsAt Sompo International, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
