Pay is dependent upon experience, and averages around $23/hr. to start. Starting pay can be higher for well-qualified individuals.Responsibilities:
Setup and Operation: Operators and/or persons set up, program and/or run CNC machines
Programming and Editing: If Programmer - may be responsible for creating or modifying CNC programs using software or by directly inputting code into the machine.
Monitoring and Adjustment: Operators closely monitor the machine during operation, adjusting speeds, feeds, and tooling as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Quality Control: They must inspect throughout the machining process, ensuring they meet dimensional tolerances and other specifications.
Maintenance: Operators perform routine maintenance tasks like cleaning, lubricating, and changing cutting tools, as necessary.Requirements:
Technical Skills: Proficiency with CNC machinery, including programming, setup, and operation, as well as knowledge of various cutting tools and materials.
Problem-Solving: The ability to diagnose and resolve issues that occur during operation.
Blueprint Reading: Understanding technical drawings and specifications is crucial for accurate part production.
Attention to Detail: Maintaining precision and quality in machining is paramount.
