- Will oversee the warehouse tooling staff.
- Follows all safety guidelines and procedures; supports the J.F. Electric safety philosophy.
- Ensure that all those who enter or work in the Tool Crib/Cage perform their work safely and use all appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Stops unsafe work practices and interventions, offering information on how to accomplish things better.
- Organize, maintain, and test electrical construction tools, ensuring readiness for projects.
- Manage the loading and unloading of tools onto transport vehicles.
- Documents where/to whom the tooling is assigned and when it will be returned.
- Keep detailed records of tool assignments and returns and anticipate tool needs.
- Ensures tooling is ready to be used when needed.
- Tracks inventory of materials and consumables and orders replenishment as needed.
- Keeps Tool Crib/Cage clean and organized.
- Fills tool requests/orders daily.
- Communicates routinely with the Warehouse Manager/other employees, and field personnel.
- Other duties as assigned or prudent
- Work in collaboration with operation managers and foremen to meet field requirements.
- Manage relationships with tool vendors, including purchases, rentals, and reconcile tool invoices for accuracy.
- Crosstrain in all facets of the Utility Division, preparing to fill in for anyone absent and grow in responsibility and scope overtime.
- Proven experience in tool or inventory management, preferably in construction or a related field.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices and PPE usage.
- Electrical or construction experience or education is helpful.
- Strong organizational skills, communication, and attention to detail
- Computer proficiency
- Must be able to routinely lift 40 to 75 pounds and greater weight with assistance and tools.
- Must be able to bend, reach, squat, stoop, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to differentiate between colors and textures.
- Minimal travel may occasionally require visits to vendors or to support off-site projects.
