
RF Design Engineer (Board Level)

- Design and develop RF and high-speed electronics for sensing, communication, and other equipment;
- Generate detailed hardware specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts for advanced hardware boards;
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system and subsystem specifications, test plans and procedures, and design and analysis reports;
- Determine layer stack up, component selection and placement, and routing of analog, digital, RF, and/or high-power signals;
- Conduct feasibility studies, analysis, and simulation for new hardware designs, ensuring compliance with military standards and requirements;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions;
- Perform prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation of circuit boards;
- Maintain component and design libraries;
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field;
- 1+ year of professional experience;
- Proficiency in relevant tools and software for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation (e.g., Altium [preferred], Cadence, Microwave Office, CST Microwave Studio, HFSS, SPICE, etc);
- Fundamental understanding of electrical circuits;
- Strong understanding of RF components and RF circuit design;
- Familiarity with military standards and specifications related to hardware design;
- Ability to balance priorities among multiple tasks and projects;
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Effective communication and collaboration skills;
- U.S. citizen;
- Active Security clearance.
- 4+ years of professional experience;
- Strong experience with wireless design and basic principles of RF and antenna theory;
- Strong experience with microstrip, stripline, and CPWG design;
- Experience with RF filter networks;
- Experience with system level RF power budgets;
- Experience with testing and validation of RF hardware systems, including thermal and environmental testing;l
- Experience with layouts of RF systems that include FPGA, DRAM, CPU, and other high-density components;
- Experience with designing power electronics and high-voltage systems that support RF electronics;
- Experience with layout of mixed analog and digital signals, including high speed data lines and RF lines, along with impedance-controlled traces';
- Component authenticity verification;
- Design and quality management certifications.
