- A Ph.D. or PsyD in the specialty area of psychology relevant to the course to be taught at the doctoral level (e.g., doctoral degree with specialty in developmental psychology for a Lifespan Development course)
- OR a Master’s degree in a subfield of psychology and a minimum of three years of professional work experience in the area of your teaching assignment for undergraduate level courses
- Effective, engaged learner-centered instruction in an inclusive, in-person classroom environment
- Effective planning and preparation of lectures, discussions, and activities to support student success
- Administration of appropriate course assessments to measure student’s learning
- Creation of a syllabus—using a School of Psychology template—to clearly describe course expectations
- Use of Xavier’s campus-wide electronic learning management system (LMS), Canvas, to provide course information and maintain an electronic record of student progress
- Working cooperatively with members of the School of Psychology to create courses that meet accreditation requirements for doctoral education
