Neuropsychology/testing experience preferred.LP preferred.POSITION DESCRIPTION:The Behavioral Health Therapist IV applies knowledge and skills of a variety of mental health and psychosocial practices to evaluate patients’ and families’ needs, performs mental health evaluation, provides counseling, and designs and implements treatment plans. Ensures treatment interventions for patients (and families when appropriate) are aligned with best practice standards. The therapist collaborates with the patient’s clinical team in planning and facilitating the patient’s receipt of appropriate therapeutic services. A Behavioral Health Therapist IV is a team leader and holds responsibility for several work group initiatives.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • All of the essential job functions of Behavioral Health Therapist III.
  • Responsibility for oversite of Addiction Recovery Counselor and Behavior Health Therapist I (LLP) by providing clinical review.
  • Facilitates Case Consultation. Leads specialty and complex case team meetings; includes responsibility for agenda.
  • Facilitates Group Supervision.
  • Evaluates workflow and develops solutions; responsible for project development, including the process of approval, implementation, assessment, correction and evaluation.
  • Administers testing based on training and license.
  • Represents therapy services and the therapy work group at community events.
  • Performs as subject matter expert, when required.
  • Contributes to department protocols.
  • Acts as department preceptor, developing onboarding and training tools for use with onboarding of Addiction Recovery Counselors and BH Therapists.
  • Active participation in one (1) workgroup/committee, e.g., Safety Implementation Team (SIT).
  • Serves as a community liaison for courts and engagements.
  • Collaborates with teammates and colleagues to develop role/skills; works to expand clinical knowledge.
  • Completes training required for and performs as EMR superuser.
  • Monitors and assesses team’s co-occurring competency.
  • Provides support for recruitment and retention activities.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs work within position licensure, as required.

MEASURED BY:Performance that meets or exceeds IHA CARES Values expectation as outlined in IHA Performance Review document, relative to position.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: LMSW with 10+ years’ experience or LP with 10+ years’ experience.CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: Advanced Certification in Specialized population, e.g., PCIT, MI, DBT, EMDR, CAADC, etc.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience supervising interns, LLMSW or LLPs. Other required experience is in “Education” above.POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ABILITIES & SKILLS * Demonstrated knowledge and skill in providing group and individual therapy.
  • Proficient/knowledgeable in medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health procedures and policies related to position responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of mental health conditions and evidence-based treatment. Ability to implement evidence-based interventions and protocols for behavioral health conditions.
  • Fluent in psychosocial theories with ability to apply concepts to patients and families.
  • General understanding of and ability to utilize community resources.
  • Fluent in conflict resolution that demonstrates respect, limits and flexibility.
  • Possesses critical thinking skills and ability to analyze complex data sets. Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment and triage skills and protocols.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and exceptional problem-solving skills, specifically as it relates to resolving patient mental health concerns.
  • Autonomous work ethic. Functions with minimal direct supervision.

  • Efficient, disciplined work habits enabling clinician to responsibly sustain an active, high-volume caseload.
  • Ability to coordinate, plan, evaluate and integrate clinical education and professional development activities that foster and maintain behavioral health best practices.
  • Proficient in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system, including but not limited to, electronic medical records, email, e-learning, intranet, Microsoft Word and Excel, and computer navigation. Ability to use other software as required while performing the essential functions of the job.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills to effectively juggle multiple priorities and time constraints.
  • Ability to work effectively with various levels of organizational members and diverse populations including IHA staff, providers, patients, family members, insurance carriers, vendors, external customers and community groups.
  • Ability to handle patient and organizational information in a confidential manner.
  • Knowledge of the compliance aspects of clinical care and patient privacy and best practices in medical office operations.
  • Is open to expanding patient hours when needed to effectively service patient needs.
  • Ability to drive to other office/practice sites and meeting and training locations.
  • Successful completion of IHA competency-based program within introductory and training period.
