Responsibilities
- Participate in the definition of the project scope and support change management. Support resource and timing estimations.
- Collaborate with the ePowertrain component department consisting of component owners and experts in defining work plans for components and enforce progress tracking until completion. Lead department internal program reviews and determine R-Y-G status for further reporting.
- Create presentations and other documents with support from the team to summarize technical or program related topics. Align with the department managers on priorities and escalation strategies.
- Represent the ePowertrain Component department in vehicle team meetings and communicate status and important topics to the program team.
- Facilitate problem solving activities and guide the team to solve problems methodically with good documentation.
- Become a champion for the Traton common development process and support the team to adopt new processes and tools.
- Support the development activities by reviewing technical results or report and providing constructive feedback as well as supporting a team member if help is needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 8 years of experience in product design/development
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 6 years of experience in product design/development
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
- PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 3 years of experience in product design/development
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
Desired Skills
- Understanding of automotive development processes as it relates to OEMs and suppliers
- Technical understanding of electrical vehicles and their components from a system, electrical and mechanical standpoint. Basic knowledge of HV power electronics is a plus.
- Problem solving background including 8D, 5-why, Fishbone.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Automotive related Engineering Degree (System, Electrical, Mechanical).
- Experience in traditional and agile program management methods.
- Working experience with electric vehicle, EV electronic and electrical modules preferred.
- Working experience in following automotive product development process and product production launch preferred.
