
LIMS Administrator II

- Implement and maintain LabWare Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for FEUS RI facilities.
- Construct and perform routine maintenance in the LIMS and SAP Systems (Product Specifications, test plans, sample plans/Inspection plans, and analyses).
- Troubleshoot application problems to minimize error potential and streamline laboratory workflow.
- Support unit integration and acceptance testing on LIMS upgrades to ensure proper performance before general release.
- Coordinate with the FEUS LIMS team to ensure best known methods (BKMs) are implemented and maintained.
- Provide timely response to user needs to include managing user accounts, troubleshooting applications, programming new report templates, and maintaining change records in accordance with version control procedures.
- The LIMS Administrator will also document user requirements for new LIMS functionality, coordinating with the FEUS LIMS team to support all LIMS development efforts.
- Responsibilities may include collaborating with the global LIMS users and IT department to ensure new functionality meets the end user requirements, writing acceptance test scripts for new LIMS functionality and participating in the validation of new software releases.
- A four-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent field is required. A Chemistry/Engineering background is a plus and recommended.
- 3-5 years of experience in using, configuring, and implementing a LIMS system is required. SAP Experience is a plus.
- Programming experience to include VB, VBA, SQL, ASP and HTML.
- Database administration experience to include MS Access and SQL Server
- Experience with Microsoft production such as Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
- Good communication, interpersonal effectiveness, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to support multiple priorities (multi-task) within a fast-paced environment in a positive and collaborative manner.
- Technical skills & Knowledge: Microsoft Office, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Structured Query Language (SQL), Microsoft Access and SQL Server, Computer Operating Systems and Networks, Configuration/Release Management.
- Analytical Chemistry or related science, Laboratory Workflow, Statistics, & Communication skills.
