- Rotating Saturdays from 8am-12pm (4 hours) - Inpatient
- Holiday Rotation - Inpatient
- Weekdays as needed or able - Inpatient & Outpatient
- $2.00 per hour added to your regular rate for Weekend/Holiday coverage
- Potential for growth to full time position when available
- Communicate with referring provider(s) regarding patient progress and needs
- Coordinate care with other professionals as needed to maximize patient outcomes
- Act as a resource to area therapists regarding progression of facility provided protocols
- Utilize professional verbal, nonverbal, and written communication with patients, families, colleagues, and others
- Involve the patient and family as appropriate in discussion and development of care, expected outcomes, and creation of patient specific goals
- Safe, reliable, and efficient performance of appropriate speech therapy procedures to evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan
- Adequate utilization of the electronic medical record including thorough research and retrieval of pertinent medical information
- Complete accurate and timely therapy documentation and billing
- Complete video swallow studies as well as AAC evaluations and treatment
- Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathologist program
- Valid Title Registration per Minnesota Department of Health Requirements
- CPR certification
- Currently hold ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
- Electronic Medical Record Experience
- 2-3 years' experience
- Experience with video swallow studies
- Strong empathy, integrity, interest, and concern for others
- Strong team philosophy with coordination and continuity of care
- Ability to recognize areas of need with willingness to assist team in completion of duties as needed
- Ability to effectively attend to people, information, and tasks in a complex, simulating environment throughout an entire workday
- Knowledge of the role and scope of speech therapy services
- Ability to gather and critically analyze data to support rationale for appropriate patient evaluation and intervention
- Ability to observe and practice universal precautions, perform CPR, and emergency first aide
- Ability to work in an environment that requires significant physical activity and mobility throughout the workday in a way that does not compromise patient or therapist safety
- Ability to work in multiple settings and travel as needed to perform job
- Comfortable in the medical/inpatient settings
