We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join a growing facilities team. This role involves traveling locally to commercial client sites in a company-provided vehicle to service HVAC systems and provide general building maintenance. The position includes HVAC troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and support in multiple trades such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. This is a hands-on field role requiring strong technical skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent customer relationships.Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair on package and split unit HVAC systems
- Inspect and replace belts, pulleys, motors, burners, heat exchangers, and condensate lines
- Test compressors, fan motors, and operational/safety controls
- Handle general repairs for hot water/steam boiler systems and ductwork issues
- Use refrigerants safely and efficiently in accordance with EPA standards
- Diagnose and repair issues such as compressor failure, leaks, and electrical faults
- Perform minor plumbing work (e.g., unclog drains, repair fixtures)
- Execute minor electrical and carpentry tasks
- Conduct general facility repairs including drywall, paint, doors, and flooring
- Utilize mobile technology (tablet/smartphone) for work orders and reporting
- Complete service inspections, create estimates, and maintain compliance documentation
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Maintain communication with internal teams and clients to ensure satisfaction
- Attend weekly safety meetings and maintain certifications
- High school diploma, technical certification, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC and general building maintenance
- Certified HVAC technician with a 2-year technical degree or equivalent license
- Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC systems
- Valid driver’s license
- EPA Universal Refrigeration License required
- Strong understanding of HVAC system controls and sequence of operations
- Able to work independently and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism
