- · As a teacher provide a one-to-one and small group teaching experience in the areas of Math, Science, Social Studies, and/or English. Math and Science experience preferred but not required.
- · Show evidence of adapting and differentiated instruction for all students and a classroom forum for holistic growth.
- · Maintain complete and accurate student and teacher records.
- · Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent parent and teacher communication.
- · Contribute to and benefit from the campus community.
- · Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement.
- · In addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching, this position includes significant student mentoring.
- · Other duties as assigned. (i.e. Tutor part time students)
- · A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required for consideration, as well as a higher-level Math background.
- · Current Illinois PEL; LBS1 (Grades 6-12 must be covered in licensure)
- · The ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting.
- Deep respect and understanding for teaching and learning.
- Knowledge and expertise in educational resources and best practices for secondary students.
- Extensive knowledge of mild to moderate disabilities.
- Knowledge of designated instructional services (speech and language, occupational therapy etc.)
- Creative solutions for struggling learners.
- Proactive communication with leadership team and families of students with disabilities.
- Desire and skills to collaborate successfully with teams of teachers.
- Commitment to constant self-improvement.
