Mission-Driven, Non-Profit InstitutionOverview:
Responsible for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance, and supporting institutional reporting and audits in a not-for-profit academic environment.Key Responsibilities:Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and month/year-end close processes.Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal/state regulations, institutional policies, and not-for-profit accounting standards.Lead preparation for external audits, tax filings (e.g., IRS 990/990-T), and NCAA financial reporting.Maintain internal controls, develop financial policies, and ensure Uniform Guidance adherence.Supervise accounting staff and support leadership with financial analysis and special projects.Qualifications:Bachelor’s in Accounting (CPA or MBA preferred).5–7 years relevant experience.Strong Excel skills; knowledge of Ellucian Colleague® a plus.Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.Able to work independently and collaboratively across all levels.Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
