Quality Engineer
(Contract or CTH for Client)
SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a manufacturing company seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their facility in Tualatin, Oregon. This company manufactures fiber optic and connector solutions for the data communications, industrial, military, and aerospace markets. This position is a contract OR contract to hire with an expected duration of 3-6 months with the opportunity to be converted to full-time.While on contract with SIGMADESIGN, you will be eligible for the following benefits:

Primary Function:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet high-quality standards. Developing processes, testing procedures, and implementing check systems to ensure that products and processes comply with safety regulations and product performance that meets clients' expectations.Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
  • Manage Non-Conformance-- Internal -MRB, KPl's & driving Corrective Actions or Improvements to ensure rapid assessment and action on non-conformances and that systemic problems driving non-conformances are addressed.
  • Develop, roll out, train and improve Inspection Processes, Instructions, Control Plans, equipment and techniques to ensure best practices with QC are always being utilized.
  • Review and compile Customer Requirements into standardized format for team use (Quality requirements, regulatory requirements, flow down information, etc.).
  • Work Corrective Actions determined to be needed based on Audit results to drive improvements to the OMS.
  • Review of documentation prepared for new release of builds to manufacturing to ensure BTP & Customer requirements are met and parts can be inspected and pass inspection if manufactured correctly.
  • Work with Design/ Process Engineering and Inspection to assure AS9102 Level First Article reports are set up, launched, completed and verified to ensure all customer requirements are met. Additionally to roll out and manage
  • TCI and Customer required APQP programs to improve the overall Product Realization process.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to continually develop and improve lean enterprise techniques and drive continuous improvement efforts in the factory to drive efficiency, effectiveness and overall performance.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience required
  • Experience with AS9102
  • Experience with Fiber Optics
  • Experience with vendor/supplier management
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group.

Work Environment:
ENGINEERING: Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.
