Job Description:This position is for the 2025-26 school year.NOTICE OF POSSIBLE WAIVER: Per KRS 160.380, to expedite the hiring for this position, the district may apply for a waiver to prevent disruption of necessary instructional or support services.Responsible for assisting teachers and schools with providing assistance in classroom instruction, student behavioral support, and providing for the health care needs of students during the school day in accordance with state laws and district regulations.The position is 6.5 hours per day and 183 days per year.170 student instructional days, 4 paid holidays, 7 planning days, 2 extended daysContracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.(Considered full-time with benefits- see below)
  • Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma or equivalent and have passed the paraeducator exam and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.
New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)25-26 payscaleStep 0: $15.98 per hourStep 10: $19.67 per hourAlthough Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year-long contract and divided by the number of remaining paychecks.
