- Manage Design. Uses AutoCAD to perform design tasks and produce drawings. Draws on internal/external mechanical and civil designer resources as required, who produce the majority of drawings.
- Inspect. Provides field supervision/inspection services on construction projects. Performs post-project review to ensure key objectives, cost/performance improvements, and rate of return are achieved.
- Prepare Bid Packages. Prepares bid packages for construction and manages construction contracts.
- Provide Updates. Provide project updates on a regular basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Represent the Company. Represents the company to industry associations, government officials, and public agencies.
- Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
- Travel. Varies based on projects, up to 25%. Most travel will be in central Georgia.
- Education. BS degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Mining Engineering degrees considered with substantial civil/mechanical/project experience.
- License. Being on the path to PE licensure is preferred.
- Experience. 1-5 years of project management and related experience with experience in a heavy industrial or mining environment. Strong familiarity with project management and engineering software tools, methodologies, and best practices. Recent graduates considered with substantial co-op or other work experience.
- Basic understanding of preparing a project scope, budget, and timeline.
- Must have competent knowledge of concrete and steel design, building codes, and construction practices.
- Fundamental project management skills are desired.
- Other essential skills include some competency with AutoCAD and being fully functional with the Microsoft Office suite.
