We’re looking for an experienced Design Engineer with a background in magnetic component design or similar custom electrical products. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product integrity, supporting customer specifications, and optimizing both new and legacy designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and quality.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and verify product designs, ensuring BOMs and specifications align with customer requirements and internal quality benchmarks
- Recommend design modifications to improve material utilization, reduce costs, and streamline production
- Align testing procedures with customer expectations and manage retention of test data
- Collaborate across departments to address customer inquiries, estimate labor times, and complete design change (ECO) and return (RMA) processes
- Partner with Sales on quoting, and Purchasing to confirm component accuracy
- Provide technical support to Production and lead design validation efforts during new product introductions
- Participate in regulatory compliance activities and maintain awareness of UL/TUV/CSA/IEC/NEC requirements
- Support ISO and quality initiatives and assist with customer site visits or presentations as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5–10 years of relevant design experience, particularly in electromechanical or custom product development
- Excellent technical documentation, communication, and analytical skills
- Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
- Familiarity with design automation tools and product lifecycle software
- Exposure to regulatory testing standards and automated test equipment
