- Design and develop automation systems, including machine/automation 3D design, electrical schematics, and control systems.
- Collaborate with senior engineers in both the mechanical and controls disciplines to deliver integrated systems.
- Create and maintain machine models and assembly drawings using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
- Write, test, and optimize PLC and HMI programs for machine automation.
- Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systems to ensure optimal machine functionality.
- Support the development of new products and technologies by providing engineering input in design and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in both design and operational phases.
- Contribute to the improvement of existing machines and automation systems to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
- Associate’s degree in Automation and Robotics or a related field, plus 5 yrs of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in 3D machine design (SolidWorks preferred or similar CAD software).
- Strong understanding of automation systems and control systems (PLC programming, HMI design, and troubleshooting. Siemens experience a plus).
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, sensors, actuators, and motor control.
- Familiarity with industrial automation equipment and systems.
- Experience with programming languages such as ladder logic, C++, Siemens (TIA Portal) or Python.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on high-quality, reliable solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across engineering disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with robotics and robotic programming.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and data acquisition.
- Familiarity with motion control systems (e.g., servos, motors).
- Experience with data analysis and system optimization tools.
