- Observes all safety regulations.
- Receives instructions from Maintenance Foreman covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installations and inspection work to be done.
- Communicates details of work with supervision to effect the most logical approach to the job.
- Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical principals, wiring, specification, codes, proportions of various material and principals of operation and application of equipment.
- Analyze all types of drawings and wiring diagrams to locate, install and repair all electrical apparatus, devices, circuits, etc.
- Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, adjust assemblies and lubricate electrical equipment taking all safety precautions.
- Isolate circuits, dismantle, inspect, repair and adjust or replace faulty parts and wiring on power feeds and equipment.
- Locate source of trouble and make either temporary or permanent repairs as required to equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair and replace all AC and DC motor drives, programmable logic controllers, sensors, and analog devices assisting plant Electrical Engineers.
- Using a laptop PC login and communicate with processors in PLC racks, monitor variables, upload software and force logic as necessary to troubleshoot.
- Repair and configure radio controls and transmitters for overhead cranes and locomotive.
- Consider all safety precautions and proper isolation of circuits to cause a minimum of interference to operations.
- Inspects, oils and drains oil from air reservoir and reports mechanical failures of air compressors.
- Repair mechanical breakdowns on overhead cranes.
- Candidates must have a high school diploma, vocational school certificate or GED.
- Four plus years of experience or Electrical Journeyman card is Preferred.
- Communicates well with management and engineering.
- Interprets wiring diagram and analyze electrical problems.
- Analyze complex non-repetitive electrical work and reasons through electrical problems.
- Experience using various tradesman’s tools in making electrical installations and repairs.
- Close attention majority of turn.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common electrical and technical journals,
- Mathematical Skills: Must have basic math skills.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs that control equipment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
