The Pathways Counselor plays a critical role in supporting students within the Alternative Pathways Program by providing academic, social-emotional, and post-secondary counseling services. The counselor helps students develop into self-reliant, productive individuals by addressing a range of academic, personal, and career planning needs.REPORTS TO: Pathways PrincipalESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Respond to and process student referrals in a timely and supportive manner.Provide individualized counseling for academic planning, personal development, social-emotional issues, and career readiness.Conduct one-on-one meetings with seniors to guide post-secondary and career planning.Assist students with course selection and academic programming for fall and spring semesters.Meet with new students and families to review schedules, program expectations, and school policies.Provide ongoing communication about financial aid, scholarships, and college application processes to assigned students.Guide juniors and their families through college readiness and testing information in the spring.Assist students with college entrance exams and other relevant assessments.
