Pharmacy Technician In-Training

- Performs point-of-sale functions, including managing payment operations.
- Provides prompt and exceptional customer service to process prescription orders.
- Utilizes and updates data in pharmacy computer system to maintain files and records.
- Completes all documentation on patients in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Maintains pharmacy inventory by receiving and stocking while also creating pharmacy orders and returns from specified sources.
- Processes requests accurately for third party payors and clinic programs for eligible patients and resolves third party payor rejections.
- Collaborates with medical and nursing staff to ensure timely resolution of refill requests and prescription issues.
- Addresses patient complaints in a respectful and professional manner.
- Supports the Pharmacy Coordinator and the Director of Pharmacy in implementing and monitoring action plans to ensure results, quality and compliance.
- Completes on-the-job training and any other additional training as assigned.
- Travels when necessary to meet operational needs.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Obtain Pharmacy Technician licensure in Kansas within 30 days of hire.
- If not already certified, a certification as a Pharmacy Technician administered from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) is required before the first state license renewal per Kansas State Board of Pharmacy, or within 2 years of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, within 30 days of hire.
- Customer service and/or healthcare experience is required.
- 1 or more years of experience in a retail pharmacy is preferred.
- Experience with 340B pharmacy and community health center is preferred.

- Mathematical Ability: The ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
