Overview:Kimley-Horn's Miami, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Structural/Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Structural team. This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will join a practice specializing in Forensic and Structural Engineering services. Responsibilities:Candidates should have strong technical and analytical, detailing, communication and interpersonal skills and should be able to develop and maintain good relationships with coworkers, industry peers and clients.
  • Perform structural design calculations, prepare project document submittal packages, and maintain Quality Control for the entire project
  • Develop structural plans, details, and technical specifications
  • Conduct site investigations and structural evaluations
  • Document field observations and prepare technical reports
  • Perform construction observation
  • Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, owners, contractors, and design team members
  • Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm
  • Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
  • "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Experience utilizing software programs for general structural analysis
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
