This leadership role focuses on accurate, efficient, and compliant coding practices that establish and deliver best practice coding production and quality for clients. The Vice President of Coding will lead a team of domestic and global coding professionals and collaborate with other revenue cycle teams and departments to enhance performance. This leadership role will have direct Modular Coding P&L ownership and responsibility for running coding operations, quality and education for clients.Here’s what you will experience working as Vice President, Coding:P&L owner responsible for driving and improving revenue, cost, and margin results for modular coding organization.Lead and manage the coding department, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and coding standards.Lead and oversee domestic and global coding production and quality teamsDevelop and implement strategies to improve coding accuracy, efficiency and quality.Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to streamline coding processes and enhance revenue cycle operations.Monitor and analyze coding performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of coding staff.Ensure the implementation of best practices in coding and billing procedures.Work closely with IT and other departments to integrate technology solutions that support coding operations.Stay up-to-date with changes in coding regulations and industry trends.Prepare and present reports on coding operations to senior management.Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferredRHIA and CSS certification required; CPC or CPMA preferredMinimum of 15 years of experience in medical coding / HIM, with at least 10 years in progressive leadership roles.Proven track record running and leading major health system coding departments and operationsExperience and strong knowledge of inpatient and outpatient coding, compliance and auditExperience with Profee PB coding and PB specialty coding highly preferredEpic EMR coding experience highly preferredStrong knowledge of coding regulations and revenue cycle managementExperience leading DNFC and or DNB reports, managing significant reduction in hold revenue and days, while implementing go-forward process improvementExperience standing up and / or leading global coding teams and offshore vendorsExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsProven ability to manage large teams and complex projectsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience leading cross-functional projects and strategic initiativesHighly skilled client coding leadership and client executive facing communication and reporting skillsProficient in coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech preferred)Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsAbility to work with domestic and global teams and leadersStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environmentAbility to handle high client expectationsFor this US-based position, the base pay range is $173,519.37 - $274,007.40 per year .
