Job Title: Design EngineerJob DescriptionResponsible for the design, development, and lifecycle management of heavy-duty alternators for trucks, buses, military, and specialty vehicles. The role involves designing next-gen alternators from concept to production in a global team setting.Responsibilities
  • Design next-gen alternators from concept to production in a global team setting.
  • Perform advanced CAD modeling and manage engineering data.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams on design for manufacturability and tooling.
  • Lead product testing to meet customer and industry standards.
  • Conduct design reviews and maintain Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEAs).
  • Manage project plans in alignment with TS and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) standards.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME/MS) or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in GD&T and CAD tools (ProE/Creo; SolidWorks a plus).
  • Experience in mechanical design, 3D modeling, and electromechanical design.
  • Familiarity with TS16949, APQP, and new product development processes.
  • Strong project leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Background in electromechanical design (AC generators, DC alternators, rotating equipment).
  • FEA experience (magnetics or stress analysis) preferred.
  • Familiarity with 5S, Lean Six Sigma, Windchill, Minitab, and tolerance analysis.
Work EnvironmentThe position involves 80% office work and 20% hands-on work with cross-functional teams in product development.
