Operational Due Diligence Analyst (Hedge Funds)
Hybrid from NYC or Palm Beach, FL offices; 10-20% travel$16B global alternative asset manager seeks hire for Operational Due Diligence (ODD) team to play integral role evaluating/monitoring operational risk of third-party hedge fund managers. Position offers exposure to wide range of strategies, structures and asset classes in the multi-strategy, multi-manager platform space.Responsibilities:
Perform ODD on new and existing external managers through document reviews, calls, and onsite visits
Evaluate operational frameworks (organizational structure, processes, controls, compliance, service providers, technology, and valuation practices)
Provide feedback and recommend solutions to address operational deficiencies; prepare detailed reports summarizing findings/risks/recommendations
Review financial statement audits and SOC reports for external investments
Maintain/update internal ODD systems, documentation, and issue tracking
Collaborate with internal teams across Legal, Risk, Technology, Portfolio Finance, and Operations; support firmwide initiatives focused on automation/process efficiency
Stay current on accounting treatment/valuation of various asset classes (equities, derivatives, swaps, and fixed income products)Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related; CPA, CAIA or CFA a plus but not required
2-4 years prior work experience in public accounting, asset management, or financial services/regulatory
Background in audit, risk management, operational due diligence, or project management a plus
Curiosity and passion about hedge fund and investment strategies
Strong written/verbal communication skills; highly organized/detail-oriented/self-motivated; able to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; experience with ODD/workflow automation tools a plusThe base salary range that will be considered for this role is from $70,000-130,000 depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
