Senior Facilities and Engineering Technician - 2nd Shift

- Lead and coordinate the maintenance team during preventive maintenance, shutdowns, new equipment rollouts, and facility upgrades.
- Perform and oversee routine and emergency repairs across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems.
- Serve as SME for critical systems; guide troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues.
- Develop and implement PM schedules, calibration plans, and equipment operation SOPs.
- Lead or support facility and equipment projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Oversee contractors/vendors and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Support quality systems including CAPAs, deviations, audits, and GMP documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects, validations, and change controls.
- Maintain system documentation, equipment drawings, and service logs.
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes, procedures, and system performance.
- Communicate equipment status, escalate downtime issues, and ensure timely resolution.
- Mentor junior team members; promote a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.
- Perform and assist with other duties as needed by Supervisor/Manager.
- Strong sense of urgency to focus on high priority task in a timely manner
- 7+ years of experience in facility, mechanical, or electro-mechanical systems in a regulated manufacturing or life sciences environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing technicians or project teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with mechanical, electrical, and control systems (motors, drives, sensors, packaging lines).
- Skilled in troubleshooting AC/DC systems, PLCs, and automation systems.
- Familiar with GMP, FDA, NEC, and NFPA70E compliance standards.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite; experience with CMMS systems and CAD/SolidWorks a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S/6S methodologies preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to be part of an on-call rotation.
- Degree in an engineering discipline preferred, or completion of a recognized craft apprenticeship; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in advanced electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, or packaging/assembly line system maintenance and repair.
- Licensure in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or PLC systems, or substantial experience in life sciences, medical device, or GMP-regulated industries.
- Strong background in industrial manufacturing, including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and PLC/electronically controlled equipment.
- Experience with CAD and SolidWorks preferred.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities are desirable.
- Knowledge of 5S/6S methodologies and Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).Valid driver’s license and ability to participate in an on-call rotation with reliable transportation.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to feel, handle; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and depth perception.
