
Valve Technician

- Notify others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities and begin to identify areas where operators can assist in resolving concerns.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and execute repair procedures for valves and associated equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, follow established procedures, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, including SQF certification.
- Monitor and manage inventory of valve parts and kits, aligning with repair frequency and ordering supplies as necessary.
- Train and support other technicians, providing guidance on valve work procedures, and occasionally assisting in training outcomes documentation.
- Regularly communicate with maintenance and plant leadership, reporting on completed repairs, equipment issues, and collaborating on maintenance schedules.
- Uphold safety practices, ensure adherence to quality standards post-repair, and maintain a clean working environment.
- Aid and support all areas in the production facility as assigned by supervisor/lead and build competence on key areas in production such as fillers, forklifts, and production lines.
- Responsible for gaining competence online circuits and learning proper hookups are made in the facility.
- Work in a safe manner and report safety concerns promptly to the supervisor/lead and take corrective actions as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
- Responsible for complying with GMPs, SOPs, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure work areas are sanitary and strictly adhere to sanitation practices.
- Communicate effectively between shifts and other departments.
- GED or High School diploma (Technical training or electrical/mechanical technician degree preferred).
- 3+ years’ experience within the mechanical field in manufacturing (food preferred).
- Experience in the repair and rebuild of valves.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers, instruments, and controls.
- Ability to report to work at scheduled times and communicate tardiness and absences with the assigned Supervisor/Manager ahead of time.
- Experience working on manufacturing equipment as well as utilities (ammonia refrigeration a plus).
- Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility including but not limited to office, production, and warehouse environments. Including the outside perimeter of the building.
- Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area.
