We're seeking a seasoned Fire Protection Engineer with a minimum of 12 years' experience in designing fire protection systems for both new constructions and renovations. This role, based in Long Beach, CA, offers a hybrid work schedule.Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in water-based fire protection systems.
  • California Fire Protection Engineer license or eligibility to obtain within a year.
  • Conduct consulting and design services for diverse projects, utilizing Fire Protection Engineering expertise.
  • Evaluate existing fire protection systems and design new ones, including fire suppression systems, fire alarms, and mass notification systems.
  • Proficient in project management and business development, including job proposals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Positive contributor to office and department goals, culture, and morale.
  • Thorough understanding of Title 24 CA Building Standards Code and NFPA Standards.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in healthcare, federal, and education project design is advantageous.
  • FPE licensure in Washington or Oregon is a plus.
  • Proficiency in designing gaseous fire suppression and fire alarm systems.
  • Knowledge of code consulting, hazardous materials analysis, passive fire protection, smoke control, or occupant egress analysis.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
