We are currently hiring multiple Legal Assistants to join our Veterans Benefits Department in Glendale, WI. As a Legal Assistant, you will work closely with an attorney to manage a caseload of individual Veterans seeking disability benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where attention to detail and client service are key.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a client caseload under attorney supervision
- Communicate with clients via phone and written correspondence
- Prepare and review appeals and evidentiary documents for VA submission
- Conduct legal, medical, and administrative research
- Maintain documentation in case management software
- Process daily mail and perform other administrative tasks as assigned
- Minimum 5 years of work experience (required)
- Paralegal Certificate (preferred)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain professionalism
- Strong customer service skills and adaptability
