SummaryLearning By The Lakes Academy is looking to hire a few new team members to our growing one year old classroom. The position of Lead Teacher includes fostering an environment to promote Learning By The Lakes Academy Inc?s core values of learning, passionate, creative, friendship and partnership; as well as the mission statement of Learning By The Lakes Academy Inc?s ?to make learning creative, engaging and exciting for all children?. Lead teachers will prepare lesson plans that are engaging and interactive to the age group they are teaching. Speak with parents about their child?s day in a positive way.DutiesEssential Duties and Functions:
1. Create weekly age-appropriate lesson plans.
1. Lesson plans must be submitted to the Director every Thursday for the following week.
2. Planning of age-appropriate lesson plans for classroom in each of the following areas daily
1. Math
2. Science
3. Language &Literacy
4. Writing
5. Art
6. Block
7. Library
8. Dramatic Play
9. Circle Time
3. Sub plans must be created and placed in your sub folder where everyone knows where they are
4. Weekly newsletters - submitted a week in advance to your Center Director for approval and/ corrections

2. What you are learning
3. Class reminders
2. Day to Day Responsibilities
1. Create a safe and welcoming environment for children in your class
2. Change children?s diapers every two hours or more often as needed.
3. Take potty-trained children to the restroom on an as-needed basis.
4. Comfort children that are struggling with any aspects of their self-regulation?s ability (feelings sad, angry, hurt etc.)
5. Report any injuries to the director immediately and provide care according to your ability.
6. Assist children in falling asleep ? this may include rubbing their backs, rocking or playing quiet music
7. Use the Procare app to:
1. Record diapers/potty, naps, activities about their day.
2. Post at least one clean photo a day and a daily activity report about each child.
3. A message letting families know what happened each day
4. Communicate with families in a positive way
5. Record incidents that have happened
8. Provide individualized care for each child
1. Infants. - should be fed according to a schedule provided by parents and sleep according to a schedule provided by parents.
3. Education and Behavior Management
1. Create an environment that fosters learning through play by having activities available to children all day, every day. Determine what materials are needed for classroom success.
2. Incorporate opened ended art activities and have the supplies ready daily
3. Use appropriate, positive behavior management techniques for children in care
4. Create a classroom that is engaging, interactive and follows the themes of the classroom.
5. Refrain from negative discipline, yelling, or any type of corporal punishment. This is a zero-tolerance policy and failing to comply with result in immediate termination
6. Collaborate with other teachers in the room
7. Provide direction to teacher assistants and support staff in your classroom
8. Communicate with parents face to face, through a conference or through ProcareRequirementsRequirements:
Essential qualifications:
  • Be at least 18 years of age; and
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Have at least 18 Credits (3 in Human Growth and Development) or a minimum of an Associate?s Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA
  • 1000 Hours in a licensed childcare program

Physical Requirements
The demands of this job require the candidate to sit, stand, walk, bend, jump, reach and lift equipment and children up to 50 pounds. This position often requires the candidate to be outdoors, to crawl, balance, walk up and down stairs, run and dance.Nice To Haves
