Timken Belts, located in Springfield, MO, is searching for production operators to work evening and night shifts.Position Summary:This position is responsible for operations on various types of machinery related to fabrication/assembly/production of power transmission belts as well as meeting production requirements, safety standards, and quality standards while also maintaining a clean work environment.Essential Job Duties:
  • Check the schedule for the production priorities and demands
  • Setup the machine according to production needs and gather materials that are needed
  • Visually check the belts for defects or poor quality as it comes down
  • Fill out appropriate belt/production tickets for each load of belts
  • Solve routine technical problems
  • Comply with all policies and procedures while maintaining a clean work environment
  • Protecting themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies
  • Willing and able to work any shift
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED (validation is required)
  • At least one year of Manufacturing experience preferred
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, rate, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables; problem solving ability.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and use hands/arms. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear at conversational level, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Moving/lifting greater than 50 pounds requires assistance from another employee or a lifting device/hoist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is may be frequently exposed to chemicals, hot/cold conditions, or noisy conditions.Required Personal Protective Equipment: Employee is required to wear proper safety eyewear and steel-toed shoes at all times while on the plant floor.Pay: After 90 days: Minimum of $21.94 to Maximum of $24.55 / hourThe Timken Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
