
Boston Energy Saver Manager

Responsibilities:
- Leads the implementation of the Boston Energy Saver program.
- Develops and fosters relationships with program partners from community-based organizations to utilities and service providers to advance the goals of the Boston Energy Saver.
- Manages the Boston Energy Saver Help Desk, providing direct service to Bostonians looking for help reducing their energy bills and/or implementing decarbonization retrofits in their buildings.
- Coordinates regularly with Mass Save and other programmatic partners administering relevant resources.
- Engages with individuals, small and large businesses, non-profits, and institutions to provide decarbonization assistance.
- Connects building owners to funding and financing opportunities for decarbonization retrofits. Stay current with Mass Save and other incentive programs and engage in opportunities to improve program offerings and design.
- Supports content development and design of the Retrofit Resource Hub and related communication.
- Leads innovative and inclusive community outreach and engagement.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative partnerships with neighborhood, non-profit, business, and institutional groups to ensure that all parts of the Boston community are engaged in the development and implementation of building sector policies and programs.
- Works with City agencies to expand the integration of climate action in their activities and develop resources for residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to take action.
- Stays current with scientific, green building, and clean technology developments and conveys them in practical terms to stakeholders.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Four to five (4-5) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in environmental science or policy, building science, building management, architecture, engineering, community development, community organizing, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field. Two (2) additional years of professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
- Commitment to advancing social justice and equity in the City of Boston to improve the lives of all residents.
- Experience with decarbonization and energy efficiency retrofits.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and communication skills; experience working with different communication styles and ability to present to diverse audiences.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse interests and backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team; experience working on a diverse team.
- Working knowledge of utilities, energy systems, and energy justice principles.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds and incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities in the consideration of impacts and outcomes of a decision-making process.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
- Fluency in one or more of Boston’s threshold languages (other than English) is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Mass Save and other building decarbonization resources is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with utility assistance programs strongly preferred.
- Experience with social media and digital marketing/storytelling strongly preferred.
- Experience with customer relationship management systems (e.g., Salesforce), Drupal, email campaign management systems, Canva, and other software platforms strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications and Google Suite.
