- Lead 1-2 small or similar areas within the materials team in the assigned facility, taking ownership of safety, productivity, efficiency, and accuracy of transactions and inventory.
- Lead production team members in a union and/or non-union environment on the materials process and provide daily support in troubleshooting issues that arise.
- Provide performance feedback and appraisals to team members to guide their development
- Educate and enforce quality, safety and 5S standards and processes, and recommend changes as opportunities arise
- Assist in the development and management of the flow of materials internally, between plants, and offsite warehousing.
- Evaluate and improve processes used to receive, store, pick, and present materials.
- Review and update departmental procedures to ensure ISO compliance.
- Train employees on materials processes, including but not limited to inventory issues, credits, rejects, receipts, and transfers.
- Work cross functionally with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, Safety, and Quality to optimize processes and performance across disciplines.
- Review daily shortages due to inventory errors, determine causes and corrective actions.
- Develop use of technology in systems and processes.
- Other materials-related projects and assignments as required.
- High School Diploma or GED with Four (4) or more years of manufacturing experience.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
