Tasks may include, but are not limited to, making outbound collection attempts, following up on escalations or other “special handling” tasks. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and pivot from task to task.Essential FunctionsMaintain information on deceased accountsReview assigned workgroupsAct as subject matter expert and assist with new hire trainingMonitor team voicemail and shared outlook mailboxMove funds using internal systems, such as Universal Maintenance DatabaseHandle escalated calls as neededPerform other duties as assignedCredit refunds for charge off and deceased accountsTrack deceased dollars within collection management softwareMaintain SCRA validation and account maintenanceValidate agency debt and disputesReview, analyze and fulfill lien release requestsReview ChexSystems disputes and update as neededKnowledge Skills & Abilities RequiredStrong understanding of collection management software like TSYS, SHAW, DM9, etc.Excellent customer service skillsInformal leadership skills with desire and ability to mentor team membersAbility to maintain a high degree of confidentialityMotivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesInquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core ValuesStrong level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required2+ year collections experience required1+ year skip tracing and/or credit bureau experience required2+ years post charge-off collections experience preferredPublic Notary registration preferred***For individuals applying, assigned and/or hired to work in areas with pay transparency requirements, Commerce is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for some roles.
