Join our elite team to reinvent the future of cold expansion!Job DescriptionReports to: VP EngineeringLocation: Hybrid (remote and office location in Kent, WA)Job Purpose: Support the design, development and validation testing of aircraft fastening and bushing repair solutions for both commercial aerospace and defense customers in support of the Company’s goals and objectives.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Support research and development for government contracts:
  • Participate in the research development and testing processes as part of the team, working with subcontractors as appropriate, to ensure conformance to contract requirements and to a successful conclusion supporting commercialization.
  • Execute the product development process to assess process options and evaluate design for manufacturability.
Assist development and commercialization of products and services to support company objectives:
  • Participate in the entire design cycle of structural fastening and bushings systems and associated tooling, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, structural analysis, development testing and qualification.
  • Generate 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering documents.
  • Participate in component level testing including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis.
  • Work with engineering, production teams, as well as external consultants to select materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers to produce world class aerospace hardware.
Assist with manufacturing and outsourcing of products and services to support company objectives:
  • Establish, maintain, and audit defined component specs and standards for new and existing products, coordinating with external partners as required
  • Ensure quality requirements are clearly defined to the production team as part of AS9100 processes
  • Provide manufacturing and production support. including creating and maintaining ERP part data as well as align routings with machining operations to support manufacturing
  • Participate in the development internal and external production and maintenance capabilities to support Company’s goals and objectives.
Operate within Company Parameters:
  • Communicate and liaise with Chief Engineer, VP Engineering, VP Sales and Product, President and other functional managers and customers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs or operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of process challenges and process improvements and changes.
  • Ensure operational activities and management of equipment and materials are executed in a manner consistent with good stewardship.
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Execute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards as established by company policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of industry-related experience, preferably aerospace and defense, in engineering, product testing and manufacturing processes (stamping and machining preferred)
  • Self-directed/organized, strong work ethic, positive attitude, works and communicates well in teams, results focused and accountable for actions
  • Prefer familiarity with aircraft, spacecraft, or automotive structures and materials
  • Knowledge in material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques for machined products.
  • Strong mechanical design and drafting skills using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks highly preferred).
  • Strong manufacturing engineering software skills using CAM software (MasterCam preferred) and ERP (Epicor or equivalent preferred)
  • Familiar with application of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) for component and assemblies preferred.
