2nd Shift Supervisor - Plastics - Base Salary to 70k/year - Gardner, MA
Our client is looking for a 2nd Shift Supervisor, to will lead 2nd shift molding operations, assign processes, run/startup/shutdown, adjust processes/auxiliaries, enforce safety, quality, and complete clear shift hand offs.
This is a strong next step for an injection molding technician or process technician with 4+ years of experience who want to lead people, coach packers and cell leaders as well as partner with maintenance and tooling!
Responsibilities:
Allocate machines to packers/cell leaders; execute the shift plan; prepare alternates for material/color changes.
Start up/shut down, make process and auxiliary adjustments to maintain throughput and quality; escalate issues promptly.
Enforce standards, complete checks, and stop/contain defects; model safe work and ensure PPE/5S practices.
Partner with Mold Technician; perform basic fixes; coordinate with Maintenance/Tooling on mechanical or mold issues.
Monitor time/attendance, approve PTO, coach performance, and address issues in partnership with HR.
Maintain shift logs, scrap/downtime records, and production reports; deliver clear handoffs to the next shift.
Coordinate with Scheduling, Materials, and other managers on staffing and production needs.
Qualifications:
HS diploma/GED and 2+ years in plastics manufacturing including prior supervisory responsibilities (or equivalent mix of education/experience).
Press operation, basic processing, molds/tooling fundamentals, and auxiliary equipment.
Read basic schematics; troubleshoot to root cause under time pressure.
Basic MS Word/Outlook and experience with ERP transactions.
