The position is responsible for leading the North America general ledger team and ensuring the propriety of accounting for the North America operations in various areas within the financial statements. The Manager of Accounting is also responsible for the integrity of the North America balance sheet close and reconciliation processes and the integrity of the North America close the books internal controls. This position will be supervised by the Senior Manager of Accounting and will liaise with various departments across the business.Work PerformedThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Drive the general ledger accounting and consolidation for North America entities and assist in necessary coordination with other geographies.
  • Ensure month and quarter end closing schedules are maintained.
  • Manage balance sheet and operating expense fluctuation review and analysis.
  • Manage the efficient preparation and documentation of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate internally to address significant non-standard transactions.
  • Research accounting topics and provide recommendations.
  • Oversee and own key processes and related controls.
  • Work with internal and external auditors, as required, regarding compliance with SOX 404 requirements.
  • Identify and drive continuous process improvement efforts for both the accounting close process and other team responsibilities.
  • Assist with system change requirements and testing.
  • Assist with confidential matters relating to accounting and reporting and other Company matters.
  • Ensure teammate knowledge of relevant Global Accounting Policies and Procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance.
  • Recruit, hire and develop teammates, providing guidance and training assistance to employees by understanding individual teammate’s professional goals to help them achieve high levels of success.
  • Assist with acquisition-related procedures and integration efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from four-year college or university
  • Masters or equivalent preferred
  • CPA required
  • 6+ years of experience in public company accounting functions
  • 2+ years in a manager or supervisor role
  • Public accounting firm experience a plus.
Skills/Requirements:
  • US GAAP general ledger close process expertise.
  • Knowledge of the financial statement process, including proper policies and procedures.
  • Effective leadership skills with strategic focus, the ability to build and develop strong teams and provide overall team vision and direction.
  • Passion for process and system improvement.
  • Deep prior ERP and financial close systems experience. SAP and BPC skills a plus.
  • Polished professional with executive presence who is comfortable interacting with all levels of internal and external contacts.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in a professional and effective way.
  • Ability to respond to questions from executives and other teammates in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ability to analyze data to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
  • Strong collaborator cross-functionally and ability to resolve and escalate issues with a wide range of personalities.
  • Strong project management skills culminating in timely, effective results.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in gathering knowledge, problem solving and getting things completed.
  • Self-driven, motivated and results-oriented.
  • Remains calm under pressure.
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; key board and 10-key skills.
The base salary range for this position is typically $100,000 to $150,000 with additional bonus and benefits available.
