CT Technologist - Full TimeShift: Friday through Monday; 6am to 4:30pmPOSITION SUMMARY:At the clinical direction of a Radiologist and the administrative direction of the Imaging Services Mgr., perform C.T. procedures with minimum supervision. Perform routine and emergency x-ray exams. Maintain equipment and supplies.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Education
Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
Certification required:
ARRT – American Registry Radiologic Technologist certificate required; RT (R).
Current BLS certification required.
Certification preferred:
CT credential preferred; RT(R)(CT) or completed within 6 months of eligibility.
License required:
NV State radiology license required.
Minimum Work Experience
Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:CT Studies
Performs routine and emergency C.T. studies according to department protocol. Show proficiency in all C.T. exams including biopsy, drainage and thoracentesis.
Consent
Obtain consent for contrast injection and allergy history from patients as necessary.
Administer I.V., oral and rectal contrast according to physician request and department protocol.
Observe patient for signs of contrast reaction, extravasation or infiltration.
Follow posted ACR guidelines in the event of allergic reactions.
Record Keeping
Select proper technique/protocol to obtain an optimal scan. Print films, send scans to Radiologist over hospital network, archive exam data.
Perform post processing of data including reformations and retrospective re-constructions.
Review studies for overall quality. Communicate all pertinent clinical history to Radiologist.
Measure regions of interest on exam.
Requisitions
Respond to C.T. and x ray requisitions for emergency room patients, inpatients, surgery patients and outpatients.
Organize workload and prioritize according to acuity of patient need. Call for a back-up technologist if necessary.
CT Equipment
Perform warm-up and calibration of C.T. scanner as necessary.
Demonstrate ability to perform quality control procedure according to manufacturer's specifications.
Maintain equipment and room in a neat and sanitary condition. Report malfunctions to Imaging Manager and Emergency Department immediately. Insure that room is properly supplied and drug reaction kit is locked and current.
