To find out more about our commitment to sustainability and about Amcor, visit .Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Overview:This position assists in the managing of an Amcor Rigid Plastics (“ARP”) manufacturing facility and is responsible for driving operational excellence in all aspects of the plant to achieve financial and operating objectives consistent with the overall business unit. Manages , directs and coordinates day to day operations. Co-leads safety, profitability, production, maintenance, quality, continuous improvement, customer relations, and coworker engagement.Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Responsible for assisting Plant Manager in the plant functions such as operations, production, engineering, finance, quality, environmental health and safety, human resources, purchasing, project management and supply chain
  • Directs production operations to ensure cost effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency with prescribed quality and other performance standards
  • Develops or revises operational and working practices, and ensures compliance with customer and industry standards including GMP standards and product safety
  • Manages and reviews financial spending consider changing to financial results and cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, and labor with Plant Manager to ensure compliance within budget
  • Assists with planning and execution of capital improvements for the plant which result directly in improved safety conditions, improved quality of finished product, added value, improved efficiency, or reduction of plant variable or fixed operating costs
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan facility operations and to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, quality and delivery problems
  • Participates in the resolution and prevention of customer complaints, and promotes solid customer relations in partnership with the commercial organization
  • Prepares and analyzes reports to provide better manage the business and comply with internal and external requirements, including plant utilization, labor efficiencies, materials usage, and first past yield. Helps drive positive trends in all plant operating KPIs.
  • Assists with overall talent management, development and employee engagement activities; cultivates an environment of high performance, safety, and ethical and legal compliance; addresses employee relations issues
  • Leads communication by example, including management meetings, oversight of daily operations, and review any customer issues
  • Serves as an ARP community representative, and is responsible for compliance with the Amcor code of conduct and for ensuring plant compliance with all regulations, as well as ARP policies and procedures
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management or related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum eight years of plant leadership experience with progressively more responsibility
  • Manufacturing plant management supervision, ideally in a related industry; plastic injection knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, forecasting, scheduling, real-time operations management and coordination of people and resources.
