- Handle scheduled preventive maintenance, ensuring all machines operate with precision and safety. Identify opportunities for performance enhancements and implement improvements, actively engaging with equipment to deliver reliable service.
- Identify and address technical problems with lab equipment, revamping and constructing as necessary to ensure production objectives are met. Attain and install necessary component parts.
- Conduct trainings for operators on new equipment, ensuring comprehensive understanding of mechanics and upkeep. Participate in workshops to stay informed and skilled.
- Generate and manage purchase orders to ensure a full inventory of necessary tools, parts, and equipment.
- Participate in overall building maintenance activities.
- Employ computer systems for maintenance management and documentation of tasks and completions.
- Communicate expertly across teams and with external vendors, sharing feedback and troubleshooting solutions.
- Contribute to efficiency projects, aiding reengineering efforts to refine lab processes.
- Coordinate with the Director of Operations on targeted initiatives that align with divisional goals.
- Maintain a workspace that is neat, clean, and conducive to productivity.
- Adhere to all corporate guidelines, promoting safety and confidentiality at all times.
- Cultivate a collaborative environment by assisting team members and contributing positively to workplace morale and productivity.
- Guide less experienced team members, offering training and mentorship. Stay engaged in learning opportunities for professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent with specialized mechanical training;
- A minimum of 5 years in roles with a focus on mechanical or maintenance skills.
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, fabrication, or mechatronics/automation is preferred.
- Strong ability to manage projects and meet strict deadlines effectively.
- Technical skills with computers for inventory and task management.
- Ability to handle weights over 60 pounds and use engineering tools for heavy equipment management.
