Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.Job DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?This role is part of Group Risk Management - US Enterprise Risk, supporting the execution of governance frameworks and Risk Appetite for the Combined US Operations (CUSO), RBC’s Intermediate Holding Company (RIHC) and branches within the US. This role will provide oversight and guidance to the lines of business (LoB)s and oversight functions as it pertains to creation, update and governance of frameworks and Risk Appetite across the US.What will you do?CUSO Risk Management FrameworkAnnual (and any off cycle) update of CUSO Risk Management FrameworkProvide guidance and perform consistency checks across Risk Management Frameworks in the legal entities in the RIHCCUSO Risk AppetiteAnnual (and any off cycle) update of CUSO Risk Appetite Statements/ Measures (RAS/RAMs)Help prepare for Review and Challenge meetings with US LoBsPreparation of presentations for management and board committeesAssist with meeting minutes and documentation requirementsAnnual update of the CUSO Risk Appetite Framework (RAF), as well as all related policies and proceduresAssist with drafting and updating of all of key governance documentsQuarterly reporting of Risk Appetite results to management and board committeesDrafting of materials for quarterly meetings with US regulators and assisting with coverage of regulatory exams and requests for information, as well as any MRA remediationsAssist with periodic reviews and requests for information from Internal Audit and various stakeholders across riskMaintain Risk Appetite supporting documentation filesUS Subsidiaries / Lines of Business Oversight/Guidance on Risk AppetiteAssist with helping to provide guidance and share information across the US subsidiaries, to ensure alignment and best practicesAssist in maintaining active engagement with the Enterprise Risk Appetite team in Toronto, for consistency and alignment of practices - as appropriateHelp maintain robust documentation on decisions reached across the US and Enterprise (Toronto) RA teamsWhat do you need to succeed?General knowledge of key risk disciplines e.g., enterprise, market, counterparty credit, liquidity risk and Operational RiskPrior experience within Risk or Product Control will be prioritizedPrior Experience with Risk Appetite and / or risk limits is very beneficialManaging projects and initiatives for multiple stakeholdersStrong written and verbal communication skills requiredIn-depth knowledge of MS OfficeOther Required Qualifications:Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law or other related fields3 to 5+ years previous experience work in a Risk Management role in a Financial Services organization.What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
